North East England leads the way for innovation in Offshore Wind
The Energi Coast Innovation Group aims to position offshore wind innovation activity in North East England at the forefront of the UK’s Regional Clusters. It can do this by capitalising on existing links and developing new collaborations involving North East England industry and local authorities, the North East England Universities, the ORE Catapult, the Aura Cluster in the Humber and with Teesside’s industrial decarbonisation activities. Energi Coast will contribute to the innovation needed to develop the next generation offshore wind technologies and their integration into the future energy system, opening up new opportunities for companies in North East England as the wind industry develops in our Region to 2030 and beyond.
An Innovation Group forum has been created on Microsoft Teams for North East England based companies, organisations and Universities to share information on offshore wind innovation challenges. The aim is to identify key areas of interest, expertise and opportunities to develop collaboration. To join the discussion contact Kate Webb, katy.webb@durham.ac.uk
