Barrier Architectural Services Ltd (BASL) is awarded prestigious Offshore Wind Modular Living Quarters (MLQ) Frame Agreement

Barrier Architectural Services Ltd (BASL) is delighted to announce the award of a prestigious Offshore Wind Modular Living Quarters (MLQ) Frame Agreement in August 2024.

This represents a significant EPIC contract award for BASL covering the design, engineering, construction, and Installation of three MLQs for final Client TenneT which will provide safe living environment for offshore personnel working on HVDC converter stations. Engineering will commence in August 2024, with construction planned to start in 2026, providing continuous work through to December 2028 for delivery of the last MLQ. Onshore installation work at our client’s yard will run from April 2028 through to January 2030 with final commissioning activities completing in November 2031.

This is a fantastic project award and testament to the capabilities and expertise of the BASL Team here on Teesside which will provide work for engineering, fabrication, HVAC, E&I and general architectural outfitting trades for years to come. The BASL Project Team is excited to commence this project and look forward to working with our new Client Dragados Offshore, S.A.U. in Spain and the successful completion and delivery of the MLQs.

The 2GW HVDC Offshore Converter Platform Project will be executed by Dragados Offshore S.A.U. in partnership with Siemens Energy for TenneT.
