Hornsea 3 platforms depart for UK
First concrete platforms sail from Poland to Port of Tyne

The first set of ten concrete working platforms for the Hornsea 3 offshore wind farm are en route from Świnoujście in Poland to the Port of Tyne in the UK.

Orsted said this shipment is the first of 20 loads that will cross the North Sea at roughly two-week intervals over the coming months.

According to the company, the platforms form an integral part of the project’s foundations and are designed to withstand harsh offshore conditions while ensuring worker safety.

The platforms were designed by Orsted and built by Aarsleff Biz Sp. z o. o., with the load-out operation delivered jointly by teams from Aarsleff Biz, Cadeler and Orsted.

Orsted added that the shipment marks another milestone in the construction of Hornsea 3 and its wider green energy ambitions.
