Taiwan launches 3.6GW auction round
Developers have six months to submit bids

Taiwan has fired the starting gun on its next offshore wind auction, with 3.6GW up for grabs.

The Ministry of Economic Affairs announced today that the application process will begin on 1 April, and will be open until 30 September.

The MOEA plans to announce winners by the end of the year.

Projects will be assessed on the performance record of the developer (35%), financial capacity (30%), and project execution (35%).

The scoring metric continues to prioritise local content under the project execution category.

Completion of the projects and grid connection for the projects is targeted for 2030-2031.

The auction also features incentives for early completion of projects, with an extra five years of power purchase offered to projects that complete grid connection ahead of schedule.
