Siemens Gamesa, Orsted set up shop at Able Seaton

Marshalling operations for wind turbine parts are underway at Able Seaton Port in Hartlepool for Orsted’s 2.9GW Hornsea 3 wind farm off east England.

Tower assembly operations and delivery of components for the 197-turbine array are in progress following the arrival of Siemens Gamesa and Orsted at the site in north-east England in early July.

The project marks the Danish developer’s return to Able Seaton since completing the delivery of the foundations marshalling scope for Hornsea 1.

Siemens Gamesa has meanwhile begun producing blades for Hornsea 3 at both its facilities in Hull and also at Le Havre, in northern France.

Cadeler P-Class ship Wind Pace and DEME installation vessel Norse Wind are scheduled to complete their first loads outs later this year before wrapping up turbine installation by the end of 2027.
