Katmex, established in Tees Valley in 1999, is a family run business and focuses on providing steel processed parts and fabricated components to the construction equipment and other heavy engineering industries such as off-shore and oil and gas. The plant consists of a total site area of 20,000m2 and has capacity to processes in excess of 1,800 tonnes of steel per month, with a further 500 tonne capacity at the sister company, Katmex Seaham. Components are produced using the latest gas and plasma technology cutting equipment, supported by secondary processing operations, which include press brakes, roll bending, chamfering and CNC machining. Katmex employ over 130 highly trained employees who have contributed to the success of the business. All employees take an active role in supporting the company’s commitment to Health and Safety, environment and quality management. Continuous improvement is an integral feature within Katmex. Man, Machine, Method and Material are regularly reviewed to ensure working practices are safe and efficient. This is supported by good management, effective leadership, continuous training and performance monitoring.
