Wardell Armstrong is a multidisciplinary Engineering and Environmental consultancy with approximately 480 staff operating from offices across the UK, including our office in Edinburgh. Formed in 1837 out of the industrial revolution, we have transitioned over decades to focus on Renewable Energy and Net Zero. A key part of this is our involvement in offshore wind development, associated energy infrastructure projects and logistical facilities.
Wardell Armstrong have supported c.13GW of offshore wind development in the UK. Projects include the East Anglia ONE, ONE North and TWO, Awel y Môr, Five Estuaries, North Falls, Five Estuaries, Dogger Bank South (East and West), Mona, Morgan, Morecambe, Neart na Goithe, Seagreen, Rampion and a number of other projects currently in development and construction phases. We have also assisted in development of ports and harbours and shore-based control centres related to offshore wind projects. Services provided across these projects vary but include civil and structural engineering design, surveying, ground investigation, environmental planning and management, licensing and permitting, archaeology, agricultural soils, ecology and ECOW, hydrology and water quality, flood risk assessment, landscape design, air quality, noise, traffic and transport planning and engineering and waste materials management.
